Description

This was a residential (Class 2 | Cat 1) water loss that resulted in the range being detached during the mitigation phase. The oven was relocated to the garage for the duration of the mitigation and repair phase. The policyholder was really keen to procure and install Ikea cabinets. As such, the cabinets resided outside of the scope associated with the GC who was tasked with reconnecting the range oven. The fact that the cabinets were Ikea, augmented by the fact that the oven was hard wired (as opposed to plug-in), required some additional concessions which we will explore. The AIF Board has chosen to incorporate a complex and obscure scenario that called for specialty line items, e.g.. this is not a standard appliance detach and reset. This Insight Sheet exists to clarify how one might invoice for the detaching and resetting of a gas range. This does not seek to include or make concessions for all equipment and/or activities as it relates to a loss of this nature.
