Xact Hacks | Policyholder Directed Upgrades
This week's Xact Hacks video covers Policyholder Directed Upgrades. When your customer decides they want granite countertops instead of the old tile countertops they had at the time of loss, you can customize the Paid When Incurred tool to highlight what that cost difference would be and even incorporate a budget number to show if you came in under or over their budget.
WRITTEN EXPLANATION: Under the Coverage/Loss tab under Claim Info (only available in Carrier Profile), go to Dwelling (Coverage A) and select Add Options. Under Additional Coverage, select SmartList and Add an Option. Name it Policyholder Directed Upgrades, and select Upgrade as the type. You can optionally add customer's overall upgrade budget in the Aggregate Class Limits section. Then on the line item you are upgrading to (granite countertops in this example), change the coverage from Dwelling to PH Upgrades. Make sure the Paid When Incurred option is selected, and associate it with the original line item that was there at the time of loss (tile countertops in this example).
